Itinerary:
Join us for horse riding at its best - in beautiful Madison, Georgia!

With over 200 horses on the property, the guides will find the ride that’s right for you.  After brushing and saddling our mounts, we’ll be grouped according to our ability level and we’ll head out for a ride in the cool morning shade. (And if you are an experienced rider, and can handle a horse at all paces, you may be allowed to go riding without a guide part of the time, in groups of at least two people!!)

With miles of trails on the property, passing brooks and streams and lush green pastures and ponds, you’ll sense all the beauty of the natural landscape from the top of a gentle, energetic, well-behaved mount.  For a full two hours, you’ll experience walking, trotting and cantering on the trails under the shimmering green canopy of trees.

***You need to be at the Southern Cross Ranch by 8:00am, so please plan accordingly! It takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach it, depending on where in Atlanta you are leaving from.**
After our ride, we’ll head back to the corral and then over to the main property where we'll enjoy the swings or rocking chairs by the pool before we are served a splendid buffet style lunch.  The ranch’s cooks are from Germany and serve up delicious, fresh homestyle cooking with international flair (vegetarian options available).  After thanking our hosts, we'll head on back to Atlanta.
Please be advised that HELMETS ARE REQUIRED for participation in this event.  (Bring your own or the ranch will provide them for use.)

Payment is due within 72 hours of your signing up so that we can reserve the horses. If you don't pay within 72 hours of signing up, you will be automatically moved to the waiting list regardless of what your Paypal banner says. Don't expect a reminder email about payment being due. See Cancellation Policy below for more details.

NOTE: There is normally a 250 pound weight limit for riding.  However, the outfitter is usually able to accomodate riders over this amount with prior notification.  Please advise trip leader(s) before signing up, but  don't let this stop you from joining us!

Also, we can only guarantee six horses reserved this far in advance, but two weeks before the event the ranch will confirm if we can have more (which they think they will). If so, we will move people up from the Wait List accordingly.  Therefore, we encourage you to register on the Wait List if you'd like to go. You will have a good chance of getting added. Do not pay, however, until you have been added to the actual event.
