Itinerary:

I know there are many members who don't feel fit enough to climb Kennesaw Mountain, especially with a group where there's pressure to keep up.  Yet some of you would love to hike around the mountain at a non-fitness hike pace.  If this describes you, then this is a perfect hike to join.  We will NOT be climbing the mountain at all;  rather, we'll begin at the Visitor's Center where we'll take the relatively flat fire trail around the base of the mountain, hike to Pigeon Hill, cross Pigeon Hill to the start of Little Kennesaw Mountain, then descend back to the fire trail for our return to the Visitor's Center. We'll stop when necessary and hike at a very moderate pace.  If you can go the distance, you'll be fine.

Let's meet at the Visitors' Center just outside the lobby for sign-in.  Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes early to check in and use the restroom. Be sure to allow time for parking, as the main lot is often full. If the main lot is full, you will have to drive down Old 41 about 1/4 mile to the new parking lot on the left and walk up to the Visitors' Center.  This could take an extra 10 minutes.

We'll start hiking promptly at 1 pm, so if you arrive late, we'll already be on our way.
