Itinerary:
It's time to revive this trip! I did it once before at Stone Mountain and it was very fun. I got the idea while riding around Stone Mountain smelling the delicious smells of folks grilling out in the picnic areas.

There are three trails at Blankets Creek: Mosquito Flats, Dwelling Loop, and South Loop. We'll be dividing into two groups with Pete leading the advanced riders on the South Loop and beginners following Ben on Mosquito Flats.

The South Loop trail is a singletrack trail. It is the advanced trail. There are some pretty steep hills on this section. It will be a great workout although less than an hour. It will be a ride to get the heart pumping. There are some technical sections on this trail but nothing to be scared of. We will be riding with a no drop policy. Meaning we will stop from time to time to let everyone catch up. If you want to ride fast or be a jackrabbit, come out and ride but you will be on your own. If you are in decent physical condition and want to see what some good single track is all about come out this Saturday. The nice thing about this trail is it is not busy. I rode it a couple weeks ago and only saw one other person while riding. Please email me if you are thinking of riding and not sure if you can handle it.

Mosquito Flats is a very beginner trail. It is flat with a soft dirt surface and only 1 mile long. There are very few tree roots and it has no hills, so this is the perfect trail for a new rider or someone doing a spring "tune-up." Any off-road bike such as a mountain bike or hybrid is suitable for this trail.

After the rides we'll fire up the grill. The menu will consist of hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled veggies, chips, and traditional cookout side items (e.g. cole slaw). I'm not going to pin down exactly which ones yet because I understand we have some vegans and I need to accommodate them. I will also have a vegan "meat" such as veggie burgers.
