Itinerary:

Have you been wanting to take a nature hike but you're afraid of the distance and pace of most of the AOC events?  Now's your chance to take that first step and get onto the trails.  We'll take this one at a  leisurely pace, stopping for photos, water, or just for a rest.

Yellow River Park is a beautifully maintained facility with separate parking areas for equestrians, bikers, and hikers.  There's also a great children's playground and a picnic pavilion there - - and a restroom.  The trails are easy, with views of the Yellow River along the way (if the water level isn't too low).  This hike won't be too strenuous, especially at the pace we'll be taking.

This is an excellent event for beginners wanting to hike but who have not yet done too much, for folks simply wanting to enjoy some beautiful scenery, for photo buffs eager to get some nice nature shots, or for individuals who are just eager to meet some really friendly people in a safe, healthy environment.  Experienced hikers are quite welcome as long as they're willing to slow down their pace!

The park isn't far from Stone Mountain.

For those who have the time, we can plan to eat lunch together at the nearby Metro Diner.  It's at 1905 Rockbridge Rd., Stone Mountain, GA.  We can decide this after the hike.
