Time for an after work paddle on the "Hooch"! The weather is suppose to be cooler and clear by next week so a good time to take to the river before school goes back and August heat sets in. We will PADDLE...optimal word here...this is not a float! You can have any type of boat you have to be able to paddle it and keep up. You are welcome to bring beverages as long as they are not in glass and you MUST bring a PFD. We will put in at Powers Ferry boat ramp side and be on the water at 6pm. I will need a voluteer or two to set shuttle at 5:15 depending on the number who register. In this gorgeous section rocky "palisades" rise steeply on both sides of the river and there's a wilderness aura much like being in the mountains. This is "where the action was" in the legendary "Ramblin' Raft Races" of the 1970s and 80s, and it's a perfect place to kick back and enjoy a few refreshments while running the Class I and easier rapids that are suitable for beginners You must be able to self save yourself if you go swimming in any of the class one rapids. I am not a registered water guide or lifeguard! I enjoy the opportunity to paddle on water that is quick & easy to get to and fun to see if you can make it across a shallow line! Please contact me with any questions or concerns! | |||||||||
