Join me for a Tuesday afternoon heart pumping hike at Kennesaw Mountain! We will be ascending four peaks, resulting in a great workout. This hike is somewhat different than the usual Kennesaw Hike so read on.

The Plan - We will begin our journey at 6:15pm meeting at the visitors center. From there we will ascend about 700 ft. to peak 1, the top of Kennesaw Mountain. Next it's off to Little Kennesaw. We will drop about 500 feet then back up about 300 ft. to the top of Peak 2, Little Kennesaw.

At the top of little Kennesaw we will be turning back at the cannons. Heading back towards Big Kennesaw dropping 500 ft. , then climbing 500ft to the top of Peak 3, Big Kennesaw. It's downhill here back down to the visitors center.

Once at the visitors center it's time to climb back up Big Kennesaw gaining an addtional 700 ft. and conquering Peak 4. Once we do a ceremonial step on Big Kennesaw's Plaque, it's time to head back down and complete our journey.

The total elevation for this hike is well over 2000 ft. The exciting part is it's only about a 5 mile journey. Be ready for a great workout.

This is a rain or shine event. No need to check if it's cancelled for afternoon storms, it won't be.

Plan on arriving at the Visitors Center 5-10 minutes early for introductions. Keep in mind the main parking lot is full this time of day. Allow yourself a few extra minutes if you are walking over from the overflow lot.

Last note. This hike begins at 6:15pm, not the typical 6:00pm Tuesday Hike start time.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

1) I-75 North to exit 267B Hwy 5 Canton Road Connector

2) If you are not heading west after getting off of the Interstate you are going the wrong way.  You should be heading towards US 41 and downtown Marietta after getting off of I-75 onto the Canton Road Connector and see Kennesaw Mountain on your right.

3) You will be tempted to take the first exit off of the Canton Road Connector which is US 41, but do not take it.  Proceed over US 41 on a bridge staying on the Canton Road Connector.

4) After crossing US 41 take a right at the first redlight which is Church Street Extension.

5) You should cross railroad tracks soon.

6) Take a left onto Old 41 at the second redlight.  If you get to US 41 again, you have missed the turn onto Old 41 so turn around.

7) Stay on Old US 41 until you pass in front of the mountain then turn left at the redlight and park in the main visitor center lot if you can.  If full head back out to Old 41, take a left and park in the new parking lot farther down the road on the left.

Notes:

1) We will begin our hike sharply at 6:15pm please be on time

2) If the main parking lot iis full allow a few extra minutes to walk over from the overflow lot.

3) This is a rain or shine event
