Itinerary:

Don your favorite medieval garb, grab your boat, and join us for a fun after work paddle! Ye Olde Rope Mill Park is famous for… wait for it… being the site for a very large rope-making mill complex dating all the way back to Georgia’s Renaissance period, like… hundreds and hundreds of years ago!

OK. I’m kidding about everything except the part about bringing your boat, the fun, and the fact that Rope Mill was at one point, an actual rope mill (until 1949). To this day, you can still see some of the old mill ruins and the narrow water raceway used to power the mill. But since we’ll be paddling the opposite direction, it won’t be tonight. (Feel free to arrive early and explore; the ruins are nearby. Just be sure to be back by 6:30)

We'll meet at Olde Rope Mill Park (circular parking lot, closest to the river) and paddle downstream to a secret waterfall, play around, eat some snacks (if you like), then paddle back the same way. The section of the Little River that we'll be on is very slow moving; no rapids.  Total paddle is approximately 3 miles and should take 2-3 hours depending on how fast we paddle and how much time we spend at the falls.

Remember, this event is BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat).  Kayak or Canoes are welcome, but this is NOT a river that you'd want to tube.

Note: Overflow parking is available just up the hill from the other two parking lots. If the lower lots are full, feel free to drop your boat off before you park so you don’t have to lug it down the hill.
