Itinerary:

This is the 58th annual Summer Cave Carnival put on by SERA (a caving organization).

These usually attract about 700 cavers for the weekend.
This year our hosts will be the Mountain Empire Grotto and the Appalachian Cave Conservancy.

We'll be staying at a huge campground (with hot showers) right at the corner of TN, NC, & WV.
They will have somewhere between 50-60 caves to choose from. All levels & all types of caves.

Everyone who went last year had a great time!

There's usually a giant hot tub to soak your muscles after a day of caving (clothing optional).

There's also an option of starting on Thursday if you want. Let me know if you're interested.

Helmets with lights are available to rent for $15 for the weekend.
Payment in advance is required as there's a limited number available.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $209.60 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

Payment is made to the grotto, not the AOC. You must send in your money with this application by May 21st to get the discount.
