The hike is about 13 to 14 miles round trip at a moderate to fast pace with very few breaks. We will start at the bottom of the falls near the Visitor Center. Please plan on bringing a small lunch/snack. We will stop at the Hike Inn for our lunch break. The Inn will often have some bread, dessert or fruit left over from dinner the night before that you can take in exchange for tips for the Inn employees, but this is not guaranteed.  There are generally hot and cold beverages as well.  It is possible to see the Atlanta skyline from one of the vistas on the hike if it is clear.

Good hiking shoes, Water and snacks/lunch, rain gear (just in case)

From the Park & Ride we will go north on Georgia 400 past the outlet Mall to GA 136. Left on GA 136 which will yield right onto HWY 183.  Turn right onto HWY 52 until the park entrance on the left. Park in the Visitors Center lot at the bottom of the falls.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $38.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
