Itinerary:

Join us on a trek through the historic Druid Hills and Candler Park areas.  We'll start on Ponce De Leon at the Publix and stroll down Ponce toward the Olmstead Parks that parallel the road.  These parks are on the National Register of Historic Places for their unique design.  From here we'll check out the Rose Garden at Fernbank Museum, then continue along to Deepdene Park.

After Deepdene we'll head towards the Candler Park area where we'll check out the Frazer Center where many upscale outdoor weddings are held in Atlanta.  Then head to Candler Park along Mclendon to see the unique shops along the way.  Did I mention breakfast????  In Candler Park we'll stop for about 45 min to 1 hour to enjoy the Flying Biscuit.  (We'll have earned some carbs by then!)

From Candler Park we'll head towards Freedom Park and it's unique sculptures and setting.  After taking in the area, we'll head back towards Ponce and by the Majestic Diner - another historic place to eat in the city!

The entire distance is 6.4 miles - with a little room for some exploring.

If you sign up, come with a wilingness to see new areas and a flexibility to go with the flow if changes have to be made along the way.

Most of the trip is along sidewalks or paved paths, with a few areas that we'll have to cross streets or skirt the road.
