Itinerary:

What better way to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon than a walk in the woods?  The weather forecast predicts sunny skies and a high of 77 degrees.

We will hike 5-6 miles on several trails down to the river and back again.  There will be a few hills, but nothing too strenuous. We will stop a few times to enjoy the scenery but will keep a steady pace throughout the hike.

We will meet at the FIRST parking lot on the left as you enter the park from Roberts Drive.  If you do not have an annual CNRA parking pass, you will need to purchase the $3 daily parking pass at the pay station in the parking lot. You will need to bring exact change.

Island Ford is the location of the Park Headquarters and Visitor Station, so you can purchase an annual pass here.  Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes early to take care of this. The Island Ford Visitor Station at Island Ford is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For a map of the park, go to the CNRA website: http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/upload/2006IslandFordB&W.pdf
