Itinerary:

   We will gather in the gravel parking lot behind the Elachee Nature Center.


  The group will hike the 4.5 mile loop down to the beautiful Chicopee Lake ending back at the the parking lot. We will then an additional 1 mile loop hike on the Elachee Creek and Dodd trails.

 Located in the 1,400-acre Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve in North Georgia, Elachee is celebrating more than 30 years of building environmental literacy for Georgians through quality educational experiences, museum exhibitions, special programs, and resources for schools and the general public.

Event Directions:

From Atlanta and South on I-85:

I-85 N to I-985 toward Gainesville. Take Exit 17. Turn left off the ramp onto GA 13/Atlanta Highway. Go 1.8 miles, until you pass the Golf Course on the right . Turn at the next right and a quick right onto Elachee Drive. Follow Elachee Drive for 1 mile through the golf course, across bridge over I-985. When the road curves, take a slight right into the gravel parking lot.
