This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

The Big Tree Forest Preserve is a great 1.2 mile trail in Sandy Springs. The trail is a mulch and dirt trail with mild slopes, lots of rocks along the stream that parallels the hiking trail.

This is a perfect trail for beginning hikers and those who just want a leisurely hike. Sunday the weather is expected to be mild with a slight chance of rain (30%), so we will want to begin our 3 mile hike promtly at 9:30 am. Since this is a small trail, we will move at a moderate pace and loop the trail a couple of times to complete our three mile hike in 1.5 hours. I look forward to hiking with everyone!
