Itinerary:

Let’s get our hike on today!  Get a motivating start to your day with us at Kennesaw Mountain National Park.  We’ll start at the Visitor’s Center and hike approximately 6 miles out and back over Kennesaw Mountain, Little Kennesaw Mountain, and Pigeon Hill.  That’s six climbs for a total elevation gain of a little over 1600 feet.

The terrain navigation is mixed with some dirt trails, paved paths, rocky forest, and wide, grooved granite outcrops.  The views near the summit extend to the distant skyline of Atlanta and possibly Stone Mountain.

While this hike is scenic, it is not leisurely or for beginners.  Strong experience with D3 hikes and above is highly recommended.  We will probably spread out based on your level of experience, but you should be prepared to hike at a moderate to fast pace in order to complete this hike in 2-2.5 hours.

We will start promptly at 9:00 am so plan to arrive a little early to check in and meet the group.  Parking is free and there should be plenty of it available at the main or overflow lot.  Restrooms will open at 7:30 am.

You can either park at the new visitor parking lot on old US Hwy 41 or in the main visitor's center parking lot. Allow a few minutes to walk from old US 41 parking lot to the visitor's center if you park there.
