Itinerary:

Got some lofty exercise goals for 2015? Awesome! Tired of just hiking Kennesaw Mountain itself? Awesome! Join me for a morning stroll through the other side of the park.

We'll do a moderate out and back along the Kennesaw Mountain NBP System from the Burnt Hickory parking lot over to Kolb Farm and back. From Burnt Hickory over to Cheatham Hill and the Illinois Monument (2.2 miles). Cheatham Hill to Kolb Farm loop (5.0 miles) and back to the parking lot on Burnt Hickory (2.2 miles). All total, 9.4 miles over rolling hills and well used trails.

We will take a few breaks but no lengthy lunch break. Bring snacks.

While we will not be trail running, we will be hiking at a moderate 2 to 2.5 mile pace...taking no more than 4.5 hours to complete our hike. I ask you to be in fairly good shape to participate. However, if the group wants to do a shorter hike, we can certainly do that.

Large breed dogs are allowed. No toy dogs please.

No carpool. Meet at Burnt Hickory parking lot.

Hope to see you Tue!
