Itinerary:

The Big Tree Forest Preserve is a nice 1.2-mile nature trail in the Sandy Springs community. The trail is a mulch and dirt trail with mild slopes. The many rocks along the stream parallels the hiking trail and adds to the wonderful landscapes at Big Trees.

This is a perfect nature trail for beginning hikers and those who just want a leisurely hike. On Thursday (New Years Day), the weather is expected to be mild with temperatures reaching 48 degrees. With this in mind, we will want start our 3-mile hike promptly at 10:00, so that we will complete our hike by 11:30. Since this is a small trail, we will move at a moderate pace and loop the trail a couple of times to complete our three-mile hike for the New Year. I look forward to hiking with everyone!
