Itinerary:

Ready for the new season?  Please join me for our weekly hike along the Suwanee Greenway.

This time we'll meet at Martin Farm parking lot, and will be walking on the Greenway toward George C Pierce Park around the lake and then return back to Martin Farm.

We will be moving at a moderate pace, approximately 3.5 miles an hour and will be making a couple quick stops at the lake. Our goal is 7.0 miles in approximately 2 hours with stops; it will not be a leisurely pace.

Hiking through the Suwanee Greenway Trail gives you that amazing imagination of how the County has transformed a neglected dumping ground of hazardous chemicals into environmentally sound wetlands and parks. According to history, in less than 30 years, this transformed environment enticed herons, egrets, hawks and even waterfowl and raptors to inhabit this wetland. This is another success story of Gwinnett County's innovation to serve the public.

The hike will start promptly at 4:00 pm so plan to arrive early.
