Itinerary:

National Trails Day is Saturday, June 6th!!

I'm gathering a group again this year to join forces with REI's National Trails Day Event. This year the event is being held at Cochran Shoals, which is a Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area location. I hope you can join me because volunteering is not only rewarding and a great way to give back to the outdoors, but we'll have a fun time too.

Please note:
If you register for this event on the AOC website, you will also need to register for the official event on REI's website: Click here for the link to the official event.

REI's Official Event Description:

Description: Each year REI participates in the American Hiking Society's National Trails Day event by helping to beautify local parks and trails. For 2015, we'll be participating with National Park Service in the Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area. We will need a lot of hands to help with Trail Maintenance in the Cochran Shoals Unit. There will be ample work for all ages and abilities.

The first 150 registered participants will receive an REI Volunteer t-shirt as well as an REI coupon.

A small lunch will be provided after the project. Some snacks will be available, but you may want to bring some of your own along with water and a reusable water bottle.

Volunteers should bring work gloves and wear long pants as well as closed toed shoes. Any participant with bee sting allergies should bring their Epipen.

Parking: We will be parking inside the gate to the left, not in the main parking lot.
