Itinerary:

Pickett's Mill is a well preserved Civil War battlefield site that is located in Paulding county. Visitors can still see the earthworks constructed during the war and observe the steepness of the surrounding area that the soldiers had to fight on. This battle was a victory for the Confederates and delayed the Federal advance onto Atlanta by one week.

We will hike the Red Trail and the Brand House Trail for a total of 4.5 miles. The trails are well maintained with an occasional hill.

There is a lecture after the hike regarding the May 27, 1864 Battle of Pickett's Mill. It will be conducted by an intern at the park who will be using content from his thesis project. The lecture is at 2:00pm in the visitor's center.

No carpool for this event.

Dogs on a 6 foot leash are allowed to join us with their well-behaved caretakers.
