The colorful trilliums, native azaleas and other wonders of the plant world put on quite a show for us this morning at this "secret garden" - a well kept one in more ways than one!  Our friendly and knowledgable naturalist hosts, Tom and John, did a wonderful job escorting us around the shady section of the garden where they taught us many fascinating things about trilliums and other plants.  The spring weather was perfect!  We want to thank Joyce for already sharing her wonderful Facebook photos of the event - simply click "Photo Album" above to view them.
After the walk we reconvened in a nice nearby classroom for lunch and a lovely slide show that also focused on the amazing "trifoliate" trillium family of plants.  Before heading home several of us also took advantage of the wide selection of potted native plants that are offered for sale in the GPC Garden Shop, and will plant them in our own gardens at home.  We're indebted to the GPC staff and their numerous garden volunteers for treating the gardening public to this beautiful place and its series of weekly "walk & talk" events - they're offered at no charge on Fridays each spring and fall. - Submitted by Charlie, Fri afternoon
