Write Up:
We set off a few minutes past 9 am with a temperature of barely 30 degrees. Completely clear and sunny skies though as we walked through the six different sections of the park. In the last section, we changed from a paved trail to a wooded trail and even crossed a small stream. Upon reaching Fernbank, we checked out the frogs, snakes and spiders and played with some of the cool science stuff. We went to the greenhouse, overlook, and elephant rock and explored the trails in the Forest area. We then returned to our cars along the same path, and found that we walked about 7.2 miles (just a little bit more than anticipated). After the hike, a few of us went to eat some great pasta in ViHi.
