Write Up:
We could not have had a more beautiful day to enjoy the fall follage. Eleven paddlers had a scenic drive on back roads (including some gravel) to the north Georgia mountains where we canoed and kayaked on Lake Rabun. We began by paddling upstream to the dam, returning to the put-in for a picnic lunch at Rabun Beach. Thanks to all who shared their many snacks. Maintaining a brisk pace, we then paddled downstream and back all the time enjoying the fall colors on the surrounding mountains. This was the first AOC event for Jim and Donna and hopefully we will see them on many more events in the future.
