Write Up:

Fiery Gizzard continues to be one my favorite trails in the south east. This time we tried out the entire Fiery Gizzard trail instead of just doing the loop. Despite a fairly boring ~3 mile section in the middle, everyone agreed that the full trail was better than just doing the Gizzard/Raven/Dog Loop. The two reroutes takes the Fiery Gizzard to some great water falls (at the expense of steep elevation changes). One of the reroutes takes hikers just behind the falls! We all enjoyed a swim or wade at Foster Falls. After drying off and cleaning up, the skies opened up and got us all wet again. Oh well!

Miles: somewhere between 13.5 and 13.9 miles including the side trail to Raven Point and the short trip down to Foster Falls.

Elevation: ~1900 ft including the side trail to Raven Point and the short trip down to Foster Falls.

We utilized a shuttle service (just a local resident) at $5 a person. Troy has enough froom for 4 passengers in his Jeep. Troy's email is wanderman2067@gmail.com and his phone is 931-259-5557
