Write Up:
Those on the hike were Jimmy Camp, Keith Ohrstrom, Don Norton We meet early Saturday Morning at Chastain Park and Ride with a slight rain the closer we got to Nanathale and the Bartrain Trail the clear it got it was overcast but great hiking weather. It was a slow but graduale climb and the closer we got to the summit the steeper it got. When we summited we could see at least 25 feet in front of us but when it is clear what a view. From there we headed South on the AT to Sassafras Shelter for the night. when we got there we were greeted by 4 hikers and 2 dogs. One in our group put up a hammock for the night and one of the dogs left him a deposit during the night. We woke to a cool morning but as the day progressed the warmer it got. We reached the NOC about lunch time and the Wesser Burgers were waiting on us. Needless to say the burger was much tastier than the dehydraded meals. If you missed this one because of the weather you missed a great hike. And remember a bad day in the woods is better than a good day at home on the couch. See you on the trail soon.
