A wonderfully cool weather Mother's day hike -- Mount Yonah beckoned and nine AOC hikers (and a dog named Doak) responded and hiked her trail. Five miles in all and just under 1500 feet of elevation gain for a solid D3 hike. After the introductions, the apples and bananas made our way up this one little ole hill. We made a slight detour to see the "Lowers" a very nice rock climbing area with 11 different climbing lanes. We were treated with a show of a couple who were rappelling and climbing in lane four. From there we made our way to the "Boulder" and then on the way to the top of the "Upper Face". Mount Yonah provided breathtaking views on a crisp clear day. After some lunch, lots of photos, and a quick trek to the grassy field at the tippy top of the mountain, we made our quick escape back down to our cars followed by congratulations and high fives for a successful trek. Mount Yonah's heart was warmed that day as she warmed ours by letting us experience her loving presence.
