Write Up:
We had 11 attendees for our hike and 2 groups for the first 5 miles of the hike - while Mother Nature was giving it all she had at us! Our hike started at Unicoi Gap with 7 hikers while the other 4 were in shuttle. They caught up with us at Tray Mountain Shelter with a outstanding time! (Bob J, Michael J, Charles H, and Stephen B) 👏 After the celebratory accolades of handshakes and hugs - our trekking poles mystery was finally solved. We took off as one unit for The Blue Ridge Swag. The trail conditions were changed from previously rock hopping and snow to a smooth soft gradient trail . Our group then broke for lunch around Addis Gap ( no smoke clams bummer ) but lots of humor and food. We soon headed out after our long enjoyable lunch to finish our final ascents. This was a good core team that helped me to finish out the hike. 🙏We were greeted with some Trail Angels toward the end of hike as we, ourselves, paid it forward at Unicoi Gap! ( did not get my chili this year ) Congratulations to Steve Tait for your first big D-6 . Thanks Charles H for the shuttle and also the others for your help.
