We had a beautiful day to hike up to Preacher's Rock on the A.T.  There was snow covering much of the northern facing slopes, and at the higher elevations, a frozen white snow and ice coated all the branches of the trees.  The streams and creeks were running high along the Dockery Lake Trail, challenging our rock hopping abilities.  Though we started our hiking later, to allow temps to rise above any freezing levels, and it was a short winter day, we all were off the trail with plenty of daylight to spare.  8 of us ventured into the town of Dahlonega, walked the square, admired the lights, got a photo op with Santa, and then went to have dinner at Yahoola Grill.  Good time spent with great people.
