Write Up:
It rained earlier in the day but cleared up just prior to the hike just like the weatherman said that it would.  The first cool thing that happened was when trip leader Ann Shelly, whom I had just met, asked me if I would like her to co-lead the event.  I said yes in a New York second, and she agreed to sweep which worked out great!  This hike had 6 brand new AOC'ers on it, so we circled up and went around the circle quickly introducing ourselves and welcoming the newcomers.  I described our plan and we headed up Big Kennesaw Mountain.  We synced up at the parking lot, then at the top.  The views were pretty clear after the rain had cleaned the dust and other particles out of the air.  Synced up again at the Mountain Road crossing then on top of Little Kennesaw.  After that we zoomed down to the Big Rock for a short break. We then headed back on the East-West Trail back to the visitor's center.  It was a strong team, and we were on a tight schedule.  Some were testing themselves and exceeded their own expectations, I believe.  It was very hot and humid, but everyone had a great attitude and had fun.  We made good time and completed the trip on time as planned.  Great hike y'all!  Let's do it again sometime.
