The Misty Mountain hike.

When I arrived at Kennesaw Mountain, they upper half was enveloped by clouds.  We started the hike before the park was even open, the skies overcast and an occasional drizzle every now and then.  There were about 6 new members at the event who I hope will keep coming back for new adventures.  We started the hike at 7:35.  Went up big Kennesaw, down into a saddle then up little Kennesaw to Pigeon rock.  We finally made it to a parking area where we stopped for a bit to drink and rest.  Most of the group decided to do an additional 2.1 miles of relatively flat woods hiking before returning the same way we came.  Overall about 8 miles in 4 hours.  I had a great time and got to have some great conversations on the way.  The humidity was around 97% so by the time I finished I was pretty drenched as were most of the group.  It was a good hike and great exercise.
