Write Up:This hike was a solid D4 - teetering to a D5. The trail gave us great views from
beginning to end! Cave Creek and Odom Scout had highs and lows with plenty of
cascading creek crossings and low bottom climbs. Soon as we headed north on the
Pinhoti we took in some elevation with spectacular views! The trails were mostly all
rock with huge moss and lichen boulder fields above us, sprinkled with some quartz
stones. All junction signs were in good shape and the paths were all well maintained.
We hit all of our high points of the day... Mcdill point, Hernandez and the plane
wreckage. Some spur trails were also taken in. This hike will be at its best in the winter
because of the views and also the counter clockwise direction. We couldn't have asked
for more perfect weather and a more perfect group. We really had a fun time!!
Cheaha y'all!
