Write Up:

We had a great day on our second hike of the Park & Play series.  I don't think the temperature was more than 80 degrees so it was quite pleasant as our group headed out.  We made our way down Ponce De Leon and turned onto Peachtree Street as we admired the beautiful architecture that surrounded us.  Everyone enjoyed great conversation as we hiked along the city sidewalks.

Our group eventually hiked along the perimeter of Piedmont Park as we prepared to leave the concrete for compacted ground trails.  We happened upon a guy selling water and hand-squeezed lemonade for a charitable cause, so we stopped to refresh and do a good deed.  After continuing on we came across a lake setting inside the park that was a perfect spot for a group photo opportunity.

We paced along the track watching various dodge ball, volleyball, and Frisbee games.  Everyone was enjoying the nice temperatures.  The Arts Festival was in full swing as we entered the main area of Piedmont Park.  Someone exclaimed, "There is a lot of talent in the Atlanta area!"  And there definitely was plenty of talent on display.  There were paintings, photographs, pottery, and various works of art to behold.

Everyone eventually parted ways; some lingering at the exhibits, some to enjoy the park scenery, some to relax at the local Park Tavern.  It was a good day.  Looking forward to the next hike in the series!
