When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along... we went bobbin' along too. We enjoyed a full morning of bird watching at Kennesaw Mountain under cerulean blue skies. With Georgia Audubon's Jay Davis as our guide, we heard and saw many species of spring migrants and year-round residents.

We took our time for the first 2 miles, and our patience was rewarded. Highlights include Scarlet Tanager, Summer Tanager, Red-eyed Vireo, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Indigo Bunting, Brown Thrasher, Northern Cardinal, Carolina Chickadee, Eastern Towhee, Carolina Wren, Turkey Vulture, Chipping Sparrow, and various elusive Warblers.

Once we reached the summit of Kennesaw Mountain, we kicked it into higher gear and knocked out 4 1/2 more miles. It was a beautiful day shared with wonderful company.
