Write Up:
Fifteen people joined in the fun at Carter’s Lake Lodge - a big, beautiful mountain house adjacent to Carter’s Lake - for a weekend of fun, relaxation and lots of good food and company. Most people arrived early Friday evening while we cooked out hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken. After dinner, some people lounged around the fireplace while others jumped into the 6-person hot tub. On Saturday morning, we cooked a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and hash browns. Some of us went for a short, easy hike (about 2 miles) up to Long Creek Falls (in Blue Ridge). The drive to hike ratio was a bit large, but it was an adventure. Others hiked around the property or lounged around the house while Katt gave some cooking lessons. Saturday night was filled with a Mexican fiesta followed by some roasted marshmallows outside at the fire pit. Chris played his guitar and sang some tunes while others played horseshoes. Of course, most people later enjoyed the hot tub during what was a beautiful evening. On Sunday morning we cooked french toast and hash browns, packed up and headed out.
