Write Up:
Despite the chilly morning, our brave hikers met at 7:45am in Kennesaw. We waited 20min for others to show up since there was a major traffic jam at I-285 and I-75. It was total of 4 of us, so we drove up in one car, Thank you M for driving!, we were supposed meet with 4 others at the resort at 10:30am. We go there around 10:00am, so some of us had breakfast buffet at the resort. One by one hikers showed, although we were missing one person B, we still had total of 8. A bit chilly but a beautiful sunny hiking day, we started our hike from the parking lot onto the Miller Trek, 2 of the lodge guest wanted to come with us, so they came along for a bout a mile or so... Suddenly one of the guest looked familiar to me, it turned we used to play tennis together in Atlanta few years ago (small state). Anyway we hiked under the power line and started our climb to the top, Ive asked M to carry a radio, since M seems to be a fast hiker, and decided to sweep, but communicating through our radio through the hike. (Radio is great to have sometimes) as we climbed halfway up the mountain, we started to see the beautiful grand views of the surrounding mountains and the lakes through the trees, we continued up toward the top, but the breath taking view never stopped, when we got to the top I was told that they had moved to a place where there is less windy and having lunch there, we caught up with them and lunch, after the lunch we started hiking down the mountain, from here its nothing but down hills... After the Miller trek was over, we continued onto the blue blaze (golf course trail), along tis short trail, there was many nice streams, mini waterfalls and rock formations. This mini trail was a great addition for photo opportunities, after the hike(we were finished by 2:00pm), we went back to the lodge and had snacks and a drink at the sports bar downstairs. It was a beautiful and perfect hiking day. Hope to see you all soon on the future hikes. www.komatsuonthenet.com/~photo/AOC_Brasstown_Valley_021205/
