Wonderful time, with awesome people, on beautiful trails (except for the imaginary one!).
We had a good home cooked dinner on our Friday night.
A solid D4 on Saturday on Bartram Trail to Rainy Mountain campsite, where we had a quick standup snack break, then we did get to see a beautiful waterfall after we finished the hike, it's good to have something to look forward to, right?
Why a standing quick break you ask? because we had fun plans to get to at the 12 Spies Winery, where we enjoyed our wine with live all american music by Tommy Joe Conner.
We ended up at Universal Joint for dinner (thanks Bob), followed by ice cream at Main Street Chocolate (Nahid spotted that one).
On Sunday we went to Darnell Creek, rough service road, thanks Batman (AKA Dan) for the truck shuttle service), that was a true exploratory adventure with creek crossings, cool mushrooms, and non existing trails, but yes, we did get to see another waterfall.
While we did not get the elevation on this hike, it was a well earned D5 due to roughing it through really difficult sections and some rain.
We ended up wet, muddy, and tired from crawling under some blowdowns and climbing over many, not to mention few sections on service roads.
I truly appreciate everyone joining me on my first adventure as a trip leader, I look forward to seeing you all on the trails!
