We had a simply wonderful hike.
we started early in the morning and went up and over to Burnt Hickory and then back to the visitor center where we stopped for a couple of minutes.
Then we headed back up together and returned again to Burnt Hickory.
On our return, we took the Brumby trail and compelted our 12 miles in about 4 and a half hours.
The hiking was lovely and we stayed together to chat and catch up, share stories, and generally enjoy the company of one another.
We also managed to avoid the excessive heat and humidity of Marietta in July as we had an early start.
This was a splendid hike indeed.
