Today, on the Stone Mountain Up, Down, and Around hike, we had a total of 9 hikers and we  got off to a prompt start right at 800am.  We had an unexpected fine mist at the beginning of the hike up the mountain and we were very ‘cautious’ on our descent - I think we all held onto the handrails with white knuckles coming down, however, the day turned out with fantastic hiking weather in the mid 70s.

We did a counterclockwise loop of the Cherokee “White” trail making friends along the way and crossing paths four times with a pack of four runners.  I wondered how many loops they did!

We did a little over 7 miles with an elevation of around 1000 feet at the top.

We welcomed some newer members, Lynne and Lisa, and they seemed to have a great time…I think we’ll be seeing a lot of them on future AOC hikes!

Thanks to the Big Rock we all had a great time.
