Write Up:

We had a great hike on the Alpha Loop this morning. The weather was a perfect mostly cloudy day with temperatures in the mid 70s. We hiked a moderate pace covering 3.8 miles in 1:40. We stopped for lots of picture taking. We started out at City Hall and then did a loop through Alpharetta City Center, Brooke Street Park, the Alpha Loop, Thompson Street Park and then down into Avalon. When we got to the end of Avalon, we turned around and basically retraced our steps back to City Center.  We saw a couple who were married at the Gazebo in Brooke Street Park having their pictures taken around the park. Most of the hikers had never been to City Center, so they enjoyed all the sights.  The sculpture call the Laborer was a big hit because you can walk/climb into it and it looks like you are seeing stars in a night sky.  I wasn't sure Kian was coming back out. We passed two nice ponds. One had a big fish chasing the bream around.  We saw lots of beautiful homes that have been built in Alpharetta in recent years. Overall, I think everyone had a good time.

A special thanks to Joyce and Lee for taking the great pictures you can view by clicking the Album Icon at above right.
