Intown Hike - Lullwater Preserve at Emory University - Saturday Morning Highlights

We had another fantastic hike today at another one of Atlanta’s hidden gems - Lullwater Preserve at Emory University.

We could not have asked for better weather with a starting temp around 45 degrees, sunny, and no chance of rain.  We covered a distance of a little over 4.5 miles and about 420 feet of elevation.

Starting right around 8:30 am, ten of us headed down to the preserve and Candler lake. We headed into the woods for a bit and then made our way to hike along South Fork Peachtree Creek then back around the other side of the lake.  During the first part of the hike, we saw deer after deer and our sightings kept growing along the way.  I think we counted six total white-tail deer today.  How cool.

We finished up right on time around 10:00am back at the starting point, The Clifton School.

Thanks to all who joined us, especially our newest members Kathy on her very first hike with the club, and Ira and Shaka, both now have a handful of hikes under their belts.
