Props to the die-hard horseback riders!  Everyone showed up even on a day that started out at 20 degrees with windchill and never got above 37.  We learned quite a bit in our 'horseback 101' class...special emphasis was put on the emergency dismount in case any of us felt we had to get off the horse quickly.  The outfitter did a great job prepping the group at their indoor arena before we hit the trail to try out our new skills.

We had a delicious lunch at Cafe International in Helen while we warmed our toes and bodies up while eating and watching football.  After deciding not to bag the hike because of the cold, we enjoyed a short stroll down to Dukes and Davis creek falls where we had the place to ourselves.

It was a long day in the cold, everyone had a great time, attitude, and spirit.
