We did introductions in the parking lot. He headed toward Hewitt Pond in a clockwise direction. We took the new Beech Creek Loop to the Visitor and headed up THE HILL. From there we took a connecting trail to the Inner Loop Trail back to the Beech Creek Loop. We turned left on the Island Ford Parkway and returned to the parking lot. We discovered that the parking lot had no shade as we shared for celebrating our return to Island Ford. We took the leftover food and gave it the park staff at the visitor center. They appreciated it.
