We had an absolutely beautiful day on our hike at Jones Bridge CRNRA this morning. Who am I kidding? We had a steady rain for the first 5 miles of our 6 mile hike.  We lost some hikers in the parking lot before the hike began, but 9 determined ( or maybe just not very smart) hikers started out on the hike in a steady downpour. 2 more gave up at the 2 mile mark (for a total of 4 miles) so we ended up with 6 hikers for 6 miles with a little over 400 feet of elevation. The trails were in surprisingly good shape with some water puddles, but very little mud to speak of.  I will say, hiking in the rain can be a lot of fun if you go about with the right mindset. We had a steady rain with no wind, thunder or lightning. I think the Fab 6 all had a good time. A perfect day for a hike.
