Write Up:
We had a great hike around, up and over Panola Moutain. Amy, our park ranger guide, gave us fantastic tour. Our trek took us by the South River and through the conservation areas at the base of the mountain. Once we started climbing the granite mountain itself, the natural beauty was breathtaking. The mountain has all of the trees and brush well preserved. The entire mountain is covered with lichen of different shapes and colors. Once on top of the mountain, we were able to view Arabia Mtn, Stone Mtn, and the Atlanta Skylien. We stayed on the mountain through dusk and saw a truely amazing sunset!
