Well, folks, if you weren’t one of the lucky few on this event, you missed out on a good one! 

The weather was amazing, the views fantastical, and the company superb!   This was a dog friendly hike and I think we all agreed that we enjoyed the energy of Tucker, Cedar, Gibson, and Plato.  They all played nicely with each other and the thru hikers we met along the way seemed drawn to them; some of them missing the pets they’d left at home while on their journeys. Bert and David, both new to the AOC, proved they are D5 material, no doubt!  Allan provided much appreciated GPS support for this hike and at the end we knew we had logged over 18 miles.  That wasn’t enough for Mike, who headed off for a 1.4 mile round trip to see the Waslick Poplar, while the rest of us hurried to the UJoint in Clayton for hard earned dinner and drinks.
