Write Up:
Blood Mountain is one of the most popular hikes in North Georgia and for good reason: a little over one hour one-way from Atlanta, great views and very well maintained trails. On this day we approached Blood Mountain from the less used Lake Winfield Scott side.

The total time for the seven mile hike was a little over four hours. Most of the participants had never been to Blood Mountain before so we spent a little longer at lunch to explore the summit area. Although it was officialy Fall, temperatures were still warm and we did not need jackets at the top.
