Write Up:
Good-bye winter and hello summer. Not sure where spring was this year. The hike was a hot one for early April but the 12 of us held a fast pace around Island Ford. We started at the visitor center and made our way to the lollipop, which Joyce said was cherry flavored. First time hiker, Jennifer, handled the trail well. Hope she comes back again. Divya won the fitness award, since she came to the hike on a bicycle, gaining some additional exercise. We passed a small snake along the way who was not too concerned about us being on his home turf. Thanks to everyone for coming out to enjoy the weather, the laughter, the conversations, the friendships, and the physical activity. Happy trails.
