The hike began with several members of the group telling John that they were worried that the hike would have to be canceled. This was due to it being advertised as a rainy day hike but there was no sign of rain as we began our hike on the White Trail.  The group enjoyed a moderate pace as we walked through the lush green woods slowly making our way towards the river.

After several miles the white trail merges into the red trail which we followed back along the river to the parking lot. Along the way we made a small detour onto a large rock in the river by the falls for a better look and also viewed the ruins from the backside along the fence.

Once back at the visitor center everyone decided to leave their "unneeded" rain gear in their cars for the second half of the hike along the yellow trail.  Almost immediately after we began down the yellow trail a steady rain began which actually was fairly refreshing.  The highlights of this part of the trail were views of the ruins from across the river, the large bridge crossing the river, and a nice long hill.

Overall it was a great day for a hike.
