Who wants to go hike up to the Inn at Amicalola Falls, on a scorching and humid afternoon, starting at the hottest time of the day? We did! and it was great. Yes it was a tad muggy* but that didn't stop us from getting a good workout and enjoying the wildflowers along the path of the AT Approach Trail and back via the Hike Inn loop. Since we arrived at the Hike Inn at their dinner time, we bypassed the dining room entirely and enjoyed our light meal outside overlooking the glorious view. An advantage of having a small number of hikers was that we all rode together in one vehicle (a luxurious one at that!) thus enjoying the company of the entire group from start to finish.
*our clothing was drenched within 10 minutes
