Write Up:

What a day at Serenbe!  The good news:  not a drop of rain;  the bad news:  recent rains made many of the trails EXTREMELY muddy and slick. We were pre-warned of the trail conditions, so we came prepared with waterproof boots, trail shoes and hiking poles.  There were so many fascinating and beautiful sights to see along the way, including deer, horses, goats, chickens, flowers, old dwellings, ruins, and waterfalls.  The hike was deliciously punctuated by lunch at the Blue Daisy Bakeshop, where we feasted on scrumptous salads, sliders, and vegan carrot soup, and sandwiches. A huge piece of caramel cake was shared by all. After the hike a group of us drove to the general store for a sampling of frozen King Pops.  Favorite flavors were raspberry-lime, coconut-lemongrass, and chocolate sea-salt.  If you have never been to Serenbe, you really should put it on your bucket-list.  And be sure to go when John S. leads the hike.  He knows the trails well and has interesting information to relate about the green community.   ~ Joyce T.
