Wow..It was a great day of fun at Panola Mountain State Park. Thank you to all who came out for this event and thanks to Eric who graciously helped me out with the Marietta carpool. Everyone arrived at the event on time, well except me.. I seemed to always seem to be fashionalby late, but Chris and I were atleast there to meet everyone before the snake presentation started.

So, our morning began with a program given by the Southeastern Reptile Rescue Group. Jason Clark is the owner of this organization. He and his wife did an awesome job of explaining the different types of snakes they rescue and from big to small, we saw them all. We broke for lunch around back of the nature center, finished fairly early, so we headed down to Lake Alexander where we were able to capture a view of the climbing tree in the distance. Jody Rice, who was our climbing instructor, was setting up when we arrived. He split us into two groups of 9, so one group had to hang out while the other group put on the helmets and harnesses and waited for instruction. Let the tree climb begin...... This was cool because it was all "on ropes". We climbed, moved knots, swung through trees, hung like bats, and repelled down the same rope. Some members of our group were able to experience something called the bat climb, which is hanging upside down and descending down by using your feet to move the knot!!!!!- Haha... Ok, so I didn't do that, but it looked like an experience for those who did.

I want to thank everyone that came out. I know the weather wasn't sunny and warm, but hey, it wasn't raining either, so I wasn't complaining.
